Meandros
© Museum of New Mexico | Our Meandros pattern is derived from a textile painted with black lines by the Shipibo people of Peru. The Shipibo tribe is dispersed among many villages in the central Peruvian department of Ucayali. Wolf-Gordon Design Studio reinterpreted the Shipibo artwork as a large-scale geometric design. The Meandros motif is printed on its coordinating pattern, Amalfi, a rustic textile look. A touch of metallic in the Amalfi ground gives it a subtle sparkle that is revealed in certain lighting conditions.
Through Wolf-Gordon’s partnership with the Museum of International Folk Art, a branch of the Museum of New Mexico, our Design Studio interacts with precious artifacts from cultures around the world. The resulting wallcovering patterns are part of our "Origins" collection, which translate distinctive craft into relevant design for today’s commercial interiors.
