Grethe Sorenson

Grethe Sørensen is an award-win­ning Dan­ish tex­tile artist who works in dig­i­tal jacquard and print. She is cred­it­ed with rev­o­lu­tion­iz­ing the art of tapes­try by invent­ing a method that trans­lates pho­to­graph­ic pix­els into thread. Sørensen cre­at­ed a stun­ning uphol­stery tex­tile, Mil­lions of Col­ors, and three Type II wall­cov­er­ings for Wolf-Gordon.

Her work is on per­ma­nent dis­play the Coop­er Hewitt muse­um in New York.
