Dan­ish tex­tile artist, Grethe Sørensen, designed two inno­v­a­tive prod­ucts for Wolf-Gor­don that have been accept­ed into the per­ma­nent col­lec­tion of the Coop­er Hewitt, Smith­son­ian Design Museum.

Mil­lions of Col­ors” Sørensen’s first uphol­stery tex­tile cre­at­ed for com­mer­cial appli­ca­tions, incor­po­rates a unique ran­dom weave” tech­nique she invent­ed, which trans­lates pix­els from pho­tographs into threads.

Soft Spots,” a wall­cov­er­ing pat­tern designed by Sørensen, is derived from unfo­cused images of light.

Wolf-Gor­don was also instru­men­tal in hav­ing an ear­li­er work, Rush Hour 2/​Shanghai,” accept­ed into the museum’s col­lec­tion, which is fea­tured in the Novem­ber 2014 issue of the Coop­er Hewitt Design Jour­nal.
