We are committed to transparency and have taken a leadership role in the industry by asking each of our partner mills to complete a HPD and EPD for the products they manufacture for us.
Health Product Declaration (HPD)
The Health Product Declaration Collaborative is an industry-leading platform that promotes transparency in building materials. The HPD Open Standard requires manufacturers to disclose potential health impacts associated with product ingredients. Since its release in 2012, the Standard has been adopted by the majority of leading green building rating and certification programs, with the goal of ensuring that the underlying information is accurate and consistent.
Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are a way for manufacturers to take comprehensive, third-party-verified Life Cycle Assessment (LCAs) and turn them into standardized declaration labels for their products. EPDs rely on LCA to provide information on a number of environmental impacts of products over their life cycle. Common impact categories include: global warming, ozone depletion, acidification, eutrophication, smog formation, and primary energy use.
