Sustainable Solutions
Our goal is to eliminate the impact of our products on human health and the planet. In addition to our certification as a company that meets NSF National Center for Sustainability (342) standards, we offer:
- Contract wallcoverings and flexible wall protection that are phthalate-free and listed in the Mindful Materials library;
- CLAIR® Type II wallcovering and RAMPART® Resolve™ wall protection, which are PVC-free and Red List compliant, meeting the Living Building Challenge;
- Low emissions certificates for the majority of our contract and textile wallcoverings;
- Upholstery textiles that include significant proportions of post-consumer recycled content and are produced without flame retardants or PFAs;
- Natural wood and cork wallcoverings sourced from sustainable forests, as well as handcrafted wallcoverings made from rapidly renewable plants;
- Many products for walls and upholstery that meet the requirements of HHI (Healthier Hospitals/Practice Greenhealth);
- Health Product Declarations (HPDs), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), and documentation for LEED credits.
Sustainable Products
Wood Veneer Wallcovering—Wolf-Gordon's WonderWood®, BildenWood®, and Wood Veneers promote a connection with nature and positively impact our wellbeing. Constructed from wood sourced from sustainable tree farms and managed forests, and manufactured in the USA, we offer these prefinished wallcoverings in the largest variety of species.
Natural Cork—Our cork products come from Portugal and Spain, where laws protect thousands of acres of forest and hundreds of species of animals and plants. This biodegradable and renewable material is stripped from live cork oak trees that regenerate every nine to ten years. Inherently flame-resistant, hypoallergenic, and impermeable, our cork comes in a variety of compositions and colors and can be used as both wallcovering and upholstery.
CLAIR® PVC-Free Wallcovering—A Best of NeoCon 2021 Gold Winner, CLAIR is Type II and bleach cleanable, and PVC-free. Produced in the USA with proprietary evo™ technology, the material is printed with low VOC inks, is Red List compliant, and meets the Healthier Hospitals/Practice Greenhealth standards. Explore the CLAIR Collection of 14 exquisitely printed and embossed designs.
RAMPART® Resolve™—Like our popular RAMPART wall protection, RAMPART Resolve provides impact and abrasion resistance comparable to rigid sheet goods in a flexible, PVC-free construction. Offered in a growing number of colors, patterns, and textures, RAMPART Resolve is highly stain-resistant and cleanable with a wide variety of commercial cleaners. For renovations, RAMPART Stronghold® wall liner—made from natural materials—can be used to cover ceramic tile, cinder block, and other irregular wall conditions before installing RAMPART.
Sirona Inherently Antimicrobial Upholstery—Woven with REPREVE®
100% post-consumer recycled polyester, Wolf-Gordon is the first supplier
to introduce this upholstery fabric that is safe for human health and
the environment. Protect+ technology embeds natural copper and silver
salts into the yarn, which inhibits the growth of microbes and reduces
odor-causing bacteria.
Felted Acoustical Wallcovering—Soft and sound-absorbent, our felt material comes in a range of solution-dyed colorways and is perfect for wallcovering and wall panels. Composed of 95% post-consumer material recycled from plastic bottles, Felted is bleach cleanable and inherently antimicrobial. Because of its dense construction, our WG Customs Lab can apply special techniques such as laser cutting, micro-etching, and digital printing.
